• Peter has been nominated for eight SAG awards. From 2002-2006, he was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for Six Feet Under. He won in 2003 and 2004. In 2002 and 2004 he was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for Six Feet Under. In 2000 he was nominated for Outstanding Performance for an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Sports Night.
• Krause’s theatrical credits include Time of My Life, After the Fall, Macbeth, and Uncle Vanya.
• In high school, Peter auditioned for a play since he wanted to meet a hot girl who had green eyes. He didn’t like the part he got but eventually took the girl to the prom.
• Peter was chosen as one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive for 2007.
• Before acting, Krause began his career writing and performing in a traveling puppet show in St. Paul, Minnesota.
• Peter has played the character Casey McCall on two television shows. He starred as Casey in Sports Night and appeared as Casey in a Sports Night appearance on the tv in the sitcom Spin City. Spin City aired just before Sports Night on ABC.

• On Six Feet Under, Krause originally auditioned for the part of “David Fisher” but the creator, Alan Ball, was impressed by Krause’s talent and noticed he had a great chemistry with Rachel Griffiths who played “Brenda Chenowith” so he gave him the part of “Nate Fisher”.
• Both of Peter’s parents were teachers. His father was a high school English teacher and his mother was a second grade teacher.
• Peter has dated his business manager, Christine King, since 1999 and their first son, Roman, was born in 2001.
